EVGENIA PAPADIMAS

Evgenia Papadimas was born in Athens andstartedstudying piano attheageof 6. She was invitedtogive her firstrecitalbytheHellenicLiteratureAssociationattheageofeleven.

Shereceived her diploma in 1993 withhonorsunderthesupervisionof Max Hallecker. In 1995 shewon 1st PrizewithDistinctionatthe national piano competitionorganizedbythe Christian Youth AssociationofGreece. Shecompleted her postgraduatestudiesattheGuildhall School of Music with James Gibb (Emeritus Professor). In 1997 she was awarded a scholarshipbytheHellenic State ScholarshipFoundationtocomplete her master’sdegree on music in ancientGreeceat City University, London.

Shehasparticipated in masterclasseswith Jack Gibbons, Charles Rosen and Stephen Kovacevich.  Eugenia hasbeeninvitedtoattendconductinglessonsbytheGreekconductor Loukas Karytinos. Performances includethe National Opera House andthe Concert Hall (Megaron) in Athens, at Bolivar Hall, Leighton House, Steinway Hall, andWigmore Hall in London, the Liszt Academy in Budapest, theAcademyof Fine Arts in Tirana, theKioi Hall in Tokyo andsheisregular St. Martin–in–the Fields in London. Her appearancesincludecities such as Athens, London, Paris, Tirana, Budapest andrecently Düsseldorf and Tokyo.

Shehastakenpartatvariouschambermusicfestivals, includingthe Oxford Philomusica Festival. Shehasparticipatedas a soloistwithFeminarteChamber Orchestra conductedby Martin Andre and Saulius Sodeckis, WorthingPhilharmonicconductedby Robin Page and also withthechoirof Les PetitesChanteurs de Monaco.  She also playedwith NHK Orchestra (Radio & Television Orchestra of Japan) conductedbyAtshushiIyedaandrecentlywiththe National State Orchestra of Athens.

Evgenia Papadimas hasperformedfortheGreek National Radio 3 for BBC Radio 3 andrecorded on BBC Radio 4.

Her recording material is on worksby Brahms, Chopin, Debussy, Mussorski, and a premierof Sir Patrick Moore’s “Nocturne for Piano” which also hasbeen live premieredattheWigmore Hall. This particularrecordingtookplace on the personal piano of Sir Georg Solti athisstudio in London on therecommendationof Lady Solti.
