TODOR SVETVIEV

Todor Svetiev was born in Bitola-Macedonia where he began his musical education. He studied piano at the Musical Academy in Zagreb and specialized at the Sanct-Petersburg Conservatory and Antverpen.

As a soloist and chamber musician, he develops his career with many successful concerts and concert tours in Macedonia, Spain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Russia, Croatia etc. He has participated in festivals such as "Ohrid Summer", "Varna Summer", "Opatija", "Herceg Novi", "Festival of Chamber Music" in Plovdiv, "Days of Macedonian Music"... In his repertoire, one can find works of different periods, also including numerous premiers of works by Macedonian composers.

He has received several awards and recognitions such as "Golden Lira" (1999) by SMUM, and "Ohrid Izida" for his concert with the "Zurich Trio" at the festival "Ohrid Summer" (1993).

T. Svetiev has been a successful professor of piano at the UKIM – Faculty of Music Arts in Skopje. Most of his students have received numerous competition awards. Svetiev is also a jury member of several international piano competitions such as: "V. Bucchi" – Italy, "EPTA" – Croatia, Pleven and Burgas – Bulgaria.
