VASIL ATANASOV

 

Professor, Master. Vasil Atanasov - oboist, is our prime artist and a   synonym of a rare example of an amazing combination, where the music vibrations come from the bottom of the exceptional music nature. Behind his huge artistic investment, there is a strenuously hard, convincing and persistent work with the most noble challenge: To be a prime artist, an excellent teacher, a soloist of The Macedonian Philharmony, a founder and an artistic leader of the chamber orchestra “Skopje soloists” and Skopje wind quintet, Trio Atanasov, Trio Macedoniko, etc.   He has received a lot of prizes and acknowledgements , such as: A Certificate for the International contest of music youth in 1981 for taking part into the finals, two prizes in Zagreb in 1983 and 1986 at the competition  of the music artists, Gold Coin – the highest award of the Union of the music artists of Macedonia in 1990, the prize “13th November” – the highest award of the city of Skopje, in 1991 for best achievements, the prize Phoenix – of the municipality of Centar – Skopje in 2003, for best achievements in music, the annual prize of the city of Strumica, “The Holly fifteen Tiveriopolski Hieromartyrs”, in 2008, for special achievements in music, etc.

From 1995 to 1999 he was a director of the Macedonian Philharmony and he accomplished successful concerts, premiere performances and some CD records.

In 2007, Vasil Atanasov, in cooperation with the International IMAV-foundation, managed to achieve a grant for seven grand pianos for the Republic of Macedonia, one of which is for the Skopje Soloists, what is of huge importance for the music art and culture.

Professor, Master Vasil Atanasov is often a member of a jury at home and international competitions, such as: Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, South Korea, etc. and his pupils and students are winners of more than hundreds of home and international prizes.

The long-time concert activity of Vasil Atanasov is remarkable, not only in his native country but also in foreign countries: Italy, Sweden, France, Germany,Austrija,Portugal, Russia,USA,Greece, Australia, Mexico, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, North Cyprus, South Korea, Vietnam, Albania, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Kosovo, etc.

His remarkable performances are permanently written to a LP-tape and five solo compact discs, and two with chamber music.
